  Michael Nathanson played series regular ‘Sam Stein’ on Marvel’s The Punisher for Netflix.  He also played series regular 'Dr. Levi Zinberg' on the HBO/Cinemax series 'The Knick', produced and directed by Steven Soderbergh.  Other TV credits include: ‘Succession’ ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’, ‘Madam Secretary’, ‘Unforgettable’, 'Chicago Med,' 'The Good Wife,' '30 Rock,' 'Rescue Me,' 'Elementary,' 'Law & Order,' 'Onion News Network,' 'Orange is the New Black,' 'Life with Kids,' a CBS pilot with Debra Messing.  Film credits include: Side Effects (Dir. Steven Soderbergh, starring Jude Law and Rooney Mara); The Wolf of Wall Street (Dir. Martin Scorsese); Time Freak (Academy Award Nominee, Best Live-Action Short); The Happy Sad (dir. Rodney Evans,); After Party (dir. Amos Posner). Theatre Credits include shows with: Lincoln Center, Hangar Theatre, Yale Rep, Bucks County Playhouse, Two River Theater, and the Disney national tour of 'The Lion King,' in which he performed as Ed the Hyena, Timon, & Zazu.  His most recent theater role was 'Ali Hakim' in the critically acclaimed sold out run of 'OKLAHOMA!' at St.Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, NY, named Best Show of the Year by Time Magazine. 

You've also seen him in many national commercials and heard him in many voiceovers and animated roles and audiobooks.

As a writer and producer, he has a number of festival shorts to his credit, including 'Tribute', distributed by Shorts Int’l and available on ITUNES.   He is in development on a half hour TV comedy series about parenting, co-written with Zach Baylin ('King Richard', 'Creed 3') called 'Drop-Off' and has another half hour comedy TV pilot in development called “F**k You, Mutants!” with producers Aaron Boyd and Ryan Frost (of Public House Films).  He is also creative producer on several projects from animator/writer Jason Porath (‘The Croods,’ ‘How to Train Your Dragon’) and is currently in development as producer/co-creator on two features: 'I Can Change' which he wrote with Amy Lowe Starbin ('Kelly & Cal' with Juliette Lewis, directed by Jen McGowan), with Jennifer Carpenter ('Dexter') attached as star and exec producer and Liz Manashil ("Speed of Life", "Bread & Butter"); and ‘Everything Hurts’ a dark relationship comedy in which he is also set to co-star, written and directed by Tom Putnam (‘The Dark Divide’, starring David Cross & Debra Messing). 

Michael was a creative producer and director with the NYC based immersive cinema event production company BBQ FILMS, where he has collaborated with movie studios, production companies, and branded content partners from all over the globe, including the 'Blade Rave' at Terminal 5 in NYC, ‘Ghostbusters HQ’ with Sony and 'Return to TWIN PEAKS' with Showtime.

    Michael is a graduate of the theater program at Northwestern University and attended RADA in London.  He also trained in Improv at UCB and The Pit in NYC.  Michael is represented by Innovative Artists, for Acting and Literary.  He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and twin 8 year old daughters.
